SC Malaysia: the regulator the offshore forex brokers don't have.
Securities Commission Malaysia · est. 1993
Tier 2Public register
The Securities Commission licenses Malaysia's capital-market intermediaries under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007. The offshore forex brokers that take FPX and DuitNow deposits from Malaysians are not SC-licensed, and the SC lists unlicensed websites on its Investor Alert List. If a broker claims Malaysian regulation, check whether it means the SC or Labuan FSA.

What the SC badge actually means.
Key protections
- Licenses capital-market intermediaries under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007
- Publishes an Investor Alert List of unlicensed websites and entities
- Can take enforcement action against unlicensed operators targeting Malaysians
Known limitations
- Offshore forex brokers serving Malaysians are not SC-licensed, so SC protections don't cover those accounts
- Labuan-licensed entities are supervised by Labuan FSA, not the SC
