SEC Thailand licenses Thai brokers, not the offshore forex platforms.
Securities and Exchange Commission, Thailand · est. 1992
Tier 2Public register
The SEC regulates Thailand's securities and derivatives markets, including the futures traded on TFEX through Thai-licensed brokers. It does not license the overseas forex and CFD brokers that most Thai retail traders use. Every broker taking PromptPay deposits for forex CFDs does so from an entity outside Thailand, which is why we score Thai traders against the entity that actually onboards them.
