The standards behind every page.
This page is the contract for what readers can and cannot expect from BrokerMap. If anything on the site contradicts what is written here, the policy wins and we will fix the page.
No broker has ever paid BrokerMap. No payment provider, exchange, bank, or regulator has ever paid for placement, scoring, or favorable coverage. No affiliate links. No referral codes. No CPA. The full revenue plan is on the methodology page and every active sponsor is named on the sponsors page; broker money is on neither.
Where we have any commercial relationship - newsletter sponsor, B2B data licensee, future paid tier - we disclose it on the same page as the affected content. If you spot a relationship we forgot to disclose, write to us and we will fix and timestamp the correction.
Live spread snapshots hourly. Regulator filings on publication. Country availability and payment methods monthly or on change. Trust Scores recalculate daily. The full table is on the methodology page.
BrokerMap editors do not trade with brokers they review. Where an editor holds a position they cannot exit (e.g. a long-term broker account from before joining BrokerMap), it is disclosed on their author profile and they recuse from any scoring decision on that broker.
Where the data comes from.
- Regulators (FCA, ASIC, MAS, CySEC, BSP, OJK, SC, SECT) are the source of truth for licence tier and any enforcement history. Where a broker page shows a regulator badge, that badge is verified against the regulator's public register.
- Spread data is collected via hourly snapshots from broker public quote feeds where available, supplemented by monthly manual capture. Numbers labelled "live" reflect the most recent snapshot; numbers labelled "typical" are 30-day medians.
- Review sentiment aggregates Trustpilot and WikiFX. Where the two disagree by more than 2 points (on a 5-point scale) we surface the divergence on the broker page rather than averaging through it.
- Country availability and payment rails are re-verified monthly from the broker's public account-opening flow as seen from each SEA jurisdiction.
What happens when we get something wrong.
If you spot an error, write to editorial@brokermap.net.
| Type | Response window | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Factual error (licence, spread, payment rail, country) | 72 hours | Acknowledge, verify against the underlying source, correct the page, append a dated correction note at the bottom. |
| Stale data (data older than its cadence) | 1 week | Refresh the affected field and update the "last verified" timestamp on the page. No correction note for normal-cadence refreshes. |
| Editorial disagreement (verdict, scoring weight) | Next monthly review | Logged, reviewed at our monthly editorial meeting, addressed publicly in the methodology changelog if it moves any score. |
| Legal complaint or takedown request | 10 business days | Reviewed by our editor; we do not remove accurate content about regulated entities. We respond either way. |
How and where we use AI.
- Data normalisation and summarisation. We use large language models to normalise broker disclosures into the site's schema and to draft single-paragraph review summaries.
- Always a human in the loop. No AI-generated text is published without review by a named editor. Numerical Trust Score components are computed by deterministic code, not by an LLM.
- AI-search answers. Where AI search is offered on the site, the underlying corpus is the same broker data published on BrokerMap. The search interface labels AI-generated responses explicitly.
What BrokerMap is not.
BrokerMap is broker intelligence, not financial advice. The content on this site is general information; it does not account for your country of residence, your risk tolerance, your tax position, or your trading objectives. CFDs and forex are complex, high-risk products. The presence of a high Trust Score does not mean a broker is suitable for you - it means we have verified the broker against our published methodology. Always test with a demo account first and consider taking independent advice before committing capital.
