SC Malaysia: the regulator the offshore forex brokers don't have.

Securities Commission Malaysia · est. 1993

The Securities Commission licenses Malaysia's capital-market intermediaries under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007. The offshore forex brokers that take FPX and DuitNow deposits from Malaysians are not SC-licensed, and the SC lists unlicensed websites on its Investor Alert List. If a broker claims Malaysian regulation, check whether it means the SC or Labuan FSA.

What the SC badge actually means.

Key protections
  • Licenses capital-market intermediaries under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007
  • Publishes an Investor Alert List of unlicensed websites and entities
  • Can take enforcement action against unlicensed operators targeting Malaysians
Known limitations
  • Offshore forex brokers serving Malaysians are not SC-licensed, so SC protections don't cover those accounts
  • Labuan-licensed entities are supervised by Labuan FSA, not the SC
Active licenses

None of our brokers hold a SC license.

No broker we track lists a SC license. If you trade from Malaysia, your account sits with an entity licensed elsewhere, so check which one before you deposit. See the brokers we rank for Malaysia.
